Establishing a new dynamic which helps to revive an expected richness in the public imagination and everyday life.

For far too long, we have turned our backs on the river; particularly on the Têt. From outside the urban centre the presence of the Têt can only be detected by the surrounding riparian forest. Furthermore, the torrential flow of the Têt has long imposed a significant physical barrier – it is physically forgotten. Today the mission for BASE is to carry out the political ambition to reveal the river and unify it with the surrounding landscape. The main aim is to invite people to approach, to look at, to touch, and to play with the river; to change perceptions about the river whilst still preserving the ecological heritage.

The Têt banks project establishes a continuous network of soft transport, promoting community ownership of the river. The design  aims to promote tourism by strengthening the economic dynamics of the project area and its territorial identity. Our approach is based on revealing and enhancing existing elements. It is about creating a link with the territory, linking elements of program in a network, connecting the existing soft transport links to the overall development project of the Têt.
