It can become a dispositive feature which reinforces the urban unit, bringing coherence to shared spaces such as the park, the square and the station, leaning on geographical sequences to make a dialogue between the infrastructure and the beautiful topography of the site.
To achieve unity, you have to take action and this project takes the necessary step. Considering the site’s main qualities; the dominating landscape and the geography of the hillside of Romainville, we have envisaged a public space viaduct which commands, reorganises and unifies the space. Inscribed in the landscape, it’s scope fixes and unifies the site, creating a territorial link and a public space for everyone. It sits in the landscape like a level line, a topographical horizon which marks the route of the metro and reinforces the characteristics of the valley.
It becomes a public green space, transforming itself into the ALLÉE DU PARC: a territorial open and protective link which creates continuity, becoming a place to live, an activated alley running between the hillside and the motorway crossing. The station sits at the centre of a promenade. Like a continuing mass of foliage, the soffit becomes the protector of this alley shaped to the rhythm of the regularly spaced supports.
