The Pres de Lyon, in the commune of La Chapelle St-Luc, near Troyes, is a public park built in the 1970s. The design is inspired by the classic english landscape park.
We were consulted in 2006 for this project and worked with the client to develop new activities on offer on site. We particularly worked on facilities for young people who use their local parks less and less. As well as proposing new types of leisure activities, our work involved redesigning the terraces, paths, entrances and most of the planting.
A concrete ‘street style’ 700 m2 skateboard park was built, new playgrounds for kids were designed, the mini golf was improved. We added pétanque areas and a sports trail. At the centre of the park, there is a large grassland prone to flooding where we designed a 170m2 sun deck facing south for enjoyment and relaxation.
